Angelina Jolie has added another Oscar on her mantelpiece, after being presented with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the ceremony held by the AMPAS the other night at the Ray Dolby Ballroom of the Hollywood and Highland Center.

However, that’s not the most important part, that she received an Oscar for her tireless humanitarian work, but rather her incredibly emotional and inspirational speech, which you can also see in the video above.

Jolie started her speech by thanking her family, fiancé Brad Pitt and son Maddox, who had accompanied them to the event, and her other children left at home. She also mentioned her mother and how supportive she’d been of her when she first started out in the industry.

Angelina’s mother also taught her the importance of doing something to better the lives of other, less fortunate people – and as she explained, if she got the Oscar, she must be doing something right. But she would not stop here, she promised.

In all honesty, I tell you this: this type of speeches usually feels rehearsed, scripted, not entirely genuine, but I could not feel this with Angelina’s. She is truly an admirable, inspirational woman.
