14 DAY TRIAL // Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been engaged for almost two years but they’re just now making the final arrangements for their much talked about nuptials. No word yet on a date or location, or designer gowns or guestlist, but insiders close to the couple claim that one thing is certain: they will be getting matching tattoos.
Jolie’s love of tattoos is well known and properly documented in the blogosphere and the glossies. She is, in fact, one of the (if not actually the most) most heavily tattooed female A-listers and, Radar Online says, it’s been rubbing off on Pitt as well.
To mark the special day when they become husband and wife, Brad and Angelina have decided to get matching tattoos and they’re now looking for the model.
“Brad really wants to do something special, and frankly, a little weird to mark the occasion, and they want to get the exact same design, in the exact same spot in their bodies,” says a spy. He’s the one doing most of the research, buying tattoo magazines by the armful and bringing them home to peruse, in the hope of finding inspiration for their wedding ink.
“Don’t expect it to be something that’s visible when they’re out day to day. They might just acknowledge to the press that they did it, but keep the actual content of the tattoos as their love secret,” the insider continues.
If they do go ahead with the plan, this will actually be Angelina’s second tattoo for Brad. Back in 2011, fans noticed that the ink on her arm, with the coordinates of the birthplaces of all her children, had been expanded to include another line.
They initially assumed that, since the piece was dedicated entirely to the kids, she was looking into adopting again and had already found a new child to offer a home to. Angelina herself shattered all the rumors by coming out and admitting that the line was with the geographical coordinates of Brad’s birthplace: Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Meanwhile, Brad too is said to have another tattoo for Angelina, though he’s yet to confirm it: her birthdate on his stomach. An obvious joke about never being able to use the “I forgot” excuse for failing to buy her a birthday present comes to mind.
The actor’s love of body art is relatively new, in the sense that it’s newer than in Jolie’s case. Another insider claims for the aforementioned tab that he’s been “like a kid” where tattoos are concerned since he and Angelina became engaged.
