Rapper 50 Cents criticized Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for keeping their relationship secret, arguing that the media and paparazzi will not leave them alone until they will publicly admit they are a couple.
50 Cent, 30, declared that too much privacy can be dangerous for celebrities, because eventually the secrets will be revealed by the media, who has nothing better to do than to dig out in "your garbage can".
He says: "If you're a celebrity, people want to go on that journey with you. If you try to hide it, eventually the public's curiosity forces them to find out what's in your garbage can. When you don't allow people to have that information, they start to dig harder.
"If Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were open, they wouldn't have paparazzi following them."
Once almost unknown outside his hometown of southside Jamaica, Queens, 50 Cent is currently one of the most well-known and commercially successful rappers of the decade. Because the success of an artist in gangsta rap often depends on street credibility and reputation, Interscope Records has sold 50 Cent as the "real deal".
The rapper, who was the first to sign to Shady Records, was scouted before knowing Eminem. He is currently signed to record label Eminem's Shady Records and Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment.
