Angelina Jolie has recently attended a roundtable discussion on the global AIDS relief effort on Capitol Hill. The famous actress had a full working day, as United Nations goodwill ambassador in Washington.
Jolie took part in a Congressional briefing organized by the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, that included Democratic Senators Joe Biden of Delaware, John Kerry of Massachusetts and Barbara Boxer of California, among others.
"I'm really trying to understand what we've done and haven't done and why", the actress was quoted as saying.
The UN goodwill ambassador has later joined Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., as speakers at the coalition's benefit dinner, that raised $1.3 million.
Angelina's behavior made her father, Jon Voight, who is starring in "Pope John Paul II", say that his estranged daughter is just like the pontiff.
The famous actor confessed that his new part made him realize that Jolie has papal qualities.
"I know how he (the pope) behaves with people and my daughter has the same response to people; she likes to interact with people. What I've noticed from her is this thing that comes down, I think, from my dad - he loved people," Contactmusic quoted Voight as saying.
