It’s not unusual for celebrities to branch out into other fields and try new ventures that capitalize on their already hard-won fame. Actors and actresses start releasing music albums, footballers design clothing lines and create perfumes, and models go into acting. Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr is the latest celebrity to join them, with an all-organic beauty line named Kora that will go on sale in mid-October, as Pedestrian TV informs.

Details about the upcoming line of products have already begun to surface on the Internet, together with two shots from the promo campaign, one of the products themselves and one of Miranda, fronting the campaign. Since this is a holistic, all-natural line, the model chose the natural approach in everything connected to it, from the packaging to her makeup in what will probably be the official main poster.

“Australian beauty and Victoria’s Secret model, Miranda Kerr, has branched out of the modeling world and announced the launch of her new organic skincare line, KORA. The 100% organic skincare products were named after a type of meditation in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition (how very Zen of her) and will be sold exclusively in David Jones. Unlike other celebrity endorsements where a face or name will suffice, Kerr has reportedly been very involved in the creation, naming and packaging of Kora – so kudos to you Miranda.” the aforementioned beauty publication informs.

Strangely enough, despite the kind of coverage she gets and media attention she commands, Kerr has chosen to do her foray in the beauty world more or less quietly. This move may very well have been prompted by the fact that she wants to see first how her products are welcomed in Australia, the only country that will be receiving them for now, before tooting the horn on them.

Kora arrives in stores in Australia in mid-late October, several reports in the media say. David Jones will carry the line exclusively at first, with the model, who’s reportedly been 100 percent involved in all stages of creation, currently in negotiations to see where else Kora might become available next.

Are you sure she named her line Kora? There's already a skincare and cosmetic line named Kora, the products are organic and really nice. Hope karma doesn't bite Miranda on the butt for swiping their name.

@something-fishy: Positive. I figure Miranda wouldn't be so ill-advised as to take some other company's name just like that. Thanks for your comment.

There is indeed already a skincare and cosmetics line called Kora made by the Kora Cosmetics Company and it appears that many of their products are made from plant and vegetable extracts. If, as the article suggests, Miranda was 100% involved in all facets of the production of her own line, then it appears she and her team haven't done their research properly.

I'd also suggest that the products are being exclusively carried by David Jones because of her contract with DJs as their fashion ambassador. And if it's part of her contract with them, it's highly unlikely that she will be able to approach other retailers to carry the line.

My guess is that the product is actually a David Jones product and they are marketing it using Miranda Kerr as it's "face".

They may well have their work cut out for them to make sales of this line since they already stock dozens of other skin care ranges and since feedback in the last 12 months or so points towards them having made a mistake in employing Miranda Kerr. She's no Megan Gale or Jennifer Hawkins after all.

Yes, something's fishy. The product line never launched. It's at DJ's but no info, no prices, no advertising. Nothing.
