The Davis Cup will give us a real exciting meeting between two of the world's finest in tennis. Team USA will meet Russia in Moscow this weekend, and the Americans will need all the help they can get to qualify for their first Davis Cup final in years.
Considering the fact that 2 Russian players reached US Open's semifinals less than 2 weeks ago, we could say that Russia is somehow a favorite. Still, Andy Roddick proved that his misery inside the ATP Tour is over and managed a sensational Flushing Meadows tournament. Alongside James Blake and the Bryan brothers, the
encounter in Moscow seems as exciting as the one in Buenos Aires, between Argentina and Australia.

And A-Rod found the perfect way to get in shape before the clash. Known to be Pete Sampras' all-time admirer, Roddick had a meeting with the former tennis ace and asked him for some advices before this crucial match.

"I've just asked him for some advice. I've never been to Moscow before and obviously I wanted to know what the stadium was like and what the atmosphere was. It wasn't a long conversation, just a small talk but I appreciated all the help I could get", said Roddick. The American is one of the most important Davis Cup players for his country in the last few years.

Both the Americans and the Russians will make the transition from hard court to clay for the Davis Cup meeting, since the surface clearly gives Russia the first chance. Both Roddick and Blake failed to manage convincing results on clay the past season. Patrick McEnroe - team captain - admitted their opponents are slight favorites this weekend.

"Obviously we would like the court to be a little harder. It's a new court so it has a lot of holes in it right now and it is a bit slow but I think it will get better in the next couple of days. Obviously, playing here in Moscow makes it difficult for us. It's a tougher surface for us and it probably makes us slight underdogs, but we have enough experience on our team and it's going to be a very close match", said McEnroe.

The match will get under way on Friday, with the first 2 encounters still to be announced later in the week. Russia will play Nikolai Davydenko and Mikhail Youzhny in the simples meetings.
