You would have thought that Android Wear smartwatches only work with Android smartphones, but in a world where everything seems to be connected, there's no need for such limitations.

For iPhone users who think the Apple iWatch will be too expensive for them, Android Wear devices are a much cheaper solution. By default, these Android Wear devices do not work with iPhones, but that doesn't mean they can't be made to support Apple's smartphones.

Developer Mohammad Abu-Garbeyyeh found a way to make Moto 360 smartwatch work with his iPhone 6, so he is now receiving notifications on Apple's smartphone from a Motorola Android Wear device.

In order to achieve that, he took advantage of Apple Notification Center Service (ANCS), which is integrated within iOS 7 and higher. With the help of ANCS, the two devices can be connected via Bluetooth.

Using another third-party application installed on the smartwatch, the developer managed to get Android Wear smartwatches to get notifications from the iPhone.

While there's no danger of bricking your iPhone or make your Android Wear device unusable, keep in mind that these features are not officially supported.
