With threaded messages view

Android mobile phone users can now enjoy an updated Facebook application on their devices. The Facebook for Android app was released in version 1.2 a couple of days ago, offering increased functionality, along with better performance levels and an appealing new feature. Moreover, it seems that the new release has been packed with some bug fixes too, all meant to make the user experience better, though issues with it are still reported to exist.

New in Facebook for Android 1.2 is support for Facebook’s threaded messages. Since this is one of the main features of the social networking site, and since it was already available for iPhone users, this is one of the main improvements the new app version brings forth. Android users are now offered the possibility to enjoy a new messaging feature with the Facebook application, enabling them to read and send messages to others in the network.

The Facebook for Android software solution can be downloaded from the Android Market, where users will find it available for free. The updated release of the application will enable users to access their Inbox and Notifications, this being the only feature added to the package, it seems. Basically, the solution now includes support for threaded message view, shows sent messages and subscription updates, and allows users to send messages via the Inbox.

While the new release brings an improved experience when it comes to connecting to Facebook while on the go, it seems that there still are some problems with it, as not all users were able to make it work on their devices. At the same time, we should note that some suggest that the web-based interface of Facebook (touchscreen optimized) is easier to use than the app available for mobile phones. However, further updates for the application will certainly arrive for Android phone owners, improving the user experience even more and, since the solution is available for free, one should consider giving it a try.
