Android and ARM may not have achieved much on the laptop market yet, but GoNote is more than willing to be part of the attempt.

The company has revealed the GoNote, a netbook, of sorts, which has tablet-like insides, a touchscreen and the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system (OS).

This is not a convertible tablet. Its display does not swivel or bend back to 360 degrees.

Ergo Electronics used the ARM Rockchip RK2918 1.2 GHz CPU as the heart of the item, backed by 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of NAND storage space.

A microSD card slot allows for extra capacity to be added, while the 10-inch touchscreen LCD features a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. Other specifications include USB 2.0 ports and a VGA camera.

Sales will begin in UK in September, for £150 / $236 / 190 Euro. Both black and white cases will be possible to choose from.
