I don’t think anyone is surprised by Google’s recent announcement that involves the number of application downloads in the Android Market.

Enough said, the search giant made it official that its application store, Android Market has reached 10 billion downloads.

It took Google more than three years to reach this impressive milestone, but with the current growth of one billion app downloads per month, it will be easier to reach 10 times more next year.

To celebrate the achievement Google partnered with various Android developers to kick-off a 10-day promotion that runs through December 16 and offers a new set of applications for only 10 cents each.

Of course, none of these apps would have existed if it weren’t for the developers who created them. Every day, these developers continue to push the limits on what’s possible and delight us in the process. For that, we thank them,” said Eric Chu, Director, Android Developer Ecosystem.

Today, Android fans can take advantage of this promotional deal and purchase any of the 10 apps included in the offer, such as: SoundHound, Asphalt 6: Andrenaline HD, Minecraft – Pocket Edition, SwiftKey X Keyboard, Endomondo Sports Tracker PRO, Great Little War Game, SketchBook Mobile, Fieldrunners HD, Color & Draw for Kids and Paper Camera.

We're really thrilled that Android Market chose to showcase SwiftKey X on day one of such an incredible milestone. It's exciting to think about how many people across the world will be able to unlock the power of SwiftKey today at such a low price,” said Joe Braidwood, CMO of SwiftKey.

There will be a new set of 10 apps available each day until December 16 for only 10 cents. If none of the above apps are attractive for you, make sure you check out the constantly updated list of discounted apps over at Google+
