Android Market problems are not unknown for both users and developers of the Android platform. Fortunately Google is keeping a close eye to its users' and devs' feedback and usually addresses each issue swiftly.

It looks like a recently discovered issue prevents users from downloading applications from Android Market.

In a thread opened on Google's technical support forum for the Android Market, on October 25th, users are reporting that they are unable to download applications from the market, even though they tried to overcome the issue by clearing caches, hard resetting or running different ROMs, both official and unofficial.

Google has yet to comment on the problem, but an inside source has disclosed the fact that the company is aware of the issue and will correct it in a future update.

The issue has been encountered by Android smartphone users all over the world and is not limited to a certain Android version or device model.

Some people report that the issue can be solved by uninstalling the software updates and doing a factory reset.

Even though the solution helped a few users, it looks like the majority didn't manage to overcome the problem even after bringing their smartphones to factory settings.

It looks like the said forum thread has gathered more than 200 posts and Google is still giving users the “silence” treatment.

One of the posters seems to have found an unlikely solution to the problem:

Go to the market, select the app you want to download and install, it will start but then be unsuccessful. Don't give up! Cancel the download, and press install again. It will probably do the same thing. Be strong don't cry! Again cancel and reinstall. Keep doing this and HOPEFULLY the apps will start to download.

I did it with google maps and after about 20 of these cancel-install cycles it worked! At first they were downloading really slow, sometimes the bar wasn't even moving for like 5 minutes, but they soon sped right up to normal.”
