Android L Screenshots Leak Ahead of Official Announcement – Report

The new version of Android will be previewed later today

The next version of Android is expected to be previewed later today by Sundar Pichai, Google’s head of Android, during the company’s I/O event.

The first screenshots of the so-called Android “L” leaked online yesterday, but no further details on the unannounced version of the mobile platform were available.

Today, new screenshots allegedly taken from the Android “L” have just been published by HTCFamily.ru, though they are tagged with AndroidPolice’s watermark.

The images show the notification bar with all the quick shortcuts that can be enabled / disabled with a single touch. The notifications on the home screen are now tagged with a blue circle icon.

Notifications are now grouped into either messages or calendar events. The screenshots also show the phone’s mobile data application and Bluetooth connectivity.

Unfortunately, it’s hard to tell if these are indeed taken from the upcoming Android version, as they look totally different from the ones leaked yesterday that had the “L” letter in the upper left corner.

Speculations aside, we only have to wait several more hours for Google to reveal the next version of Android, so these screenshots may lose their informational value by the end of the day.

We will be live blogging the Google I/O event, so stay with us for more news on everything that’s Android related. Also, share your thoughts on these screenshots. Do you think they are indeed taken from the Android “L”?
