Android Ice Cream Sandwich Previewed on Archos 101 G9 Tablet

While some would be fooled to think that Android 4.0, aka Ice Cream Sandwich, needs high-end hardware in order to run properly, Google’s OS works just as well on more budget tablets like the 10.1-inch Archos 101 G9.

The French company even posted a video of their tablet running Ice Cream Sandwich and the results are nothing less of amazing as you can see from yourself from the video included.

The best part about this whole demo is that the 1.2GHz TI OMAP dual-core equipped Archos 101 G9 is available for just 290€ ($388 US), which makes it quite a cheap tablet by European standards.

Archos version of Ice Cream Sandwich is just an early preview so it still lacks some features such as 3G or video support.

We’re however confident that they will be able to surpass these issues and release an Android 4.0 update in the first quarter of 2012.
