Wondering when you’ll be updated to Lollipop?

Android 5.0 Lollipop has been out and about for a few months now, but most devices are yet to get it. Actually, as it was recently revealed in a report, less than 0.1% of Android users are using Lollipop on their active handset.

That’s because a lot of major device manufacturers are still working towards bringing their update to their slew of devices. So if you’re not a Nexus / Google Play Edition owner, when exactly can you expect to see Android 5.0 Lollipop hit your model?

Check out the list below and you’ll be able to make an idea.

Samsung

Samsung Galaxy S5

As you probably know, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update has already started rolling out, hitting territories such as South Korea, Russia, Malaysia and some parts of Europe.

This week, we have heard news that users in the UK have reportedly started getting the new build too. As for the US counterparts, users are yet to receive Google’s latest build and Galaxy S5s in the country are still operating on Android 4.4 KitKat.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Although info about the exact date when the Galaxy Note 4 will receive Lollipop is quite blurry, word on the street has it that Samsung is working on providing the Android 5.0.1 update directly, thus skipping a beat in the process.

Samsung Galaxy Edge and Galaxy Alpha

Like the Galaxy Note 4, the Galaxy Edge has been said to be getting Android 5.0.1 directly. But the rumor mill also told us that Edge would be updated to the new build in February, while the Galaxy Alpha got a more shady date – Q1 2015.

Interestingly enough, since then Samsung has announced it was axing the Galaxy Alpha handset in favor of its Galaxy A series (made up of the A3, A5 and A7). Nevertheless, if you already purchased the Galaxy Alpha, you will be updated to Lollipop eventually.

Samsung Galaxy S4

The handset has been confirmed to be getting Lollipop treatment, and the new build will apparently start rolling out for owners of the device in Q1 2015, although a specific date has not been provided.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3

A bunch of unofficial Lollipop ROMs have been spotted here and there, but the official release coming from Samsung is yet to appear. We’re waiting for it to arrive in Q1 2015, but like in the case of the Galaxy S4 or Galaxy Alpha we don’t know exactly when.

Other Samsung phones that should be receiving the update are the Galaxy S5 Active, Galaxy S5 Mini and Galaxy Note II (a screenshot leaked indicating this is the case).

LG

LG G3

LG was one of the companies that was amazingly quick to pick up the Lollipop update for its flagship, the G3.

The update has been offered ever since November and has hit devices in South Korea, Europe (Poland, Nordic countries and the UK), but the US is still waiting on Lollipop.

LG G2

The device maker’s 2013 flagship has been rumored to be getting the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop directly and a video showing the build running on such a handset has already leaked online, therefore we’re pretty confident the LG G2 won’t be left out in the cold.

Other LG handsets that will probably get the new build include the LG G Pro 2.

Motorola

Motorola Moto G (2014)

This smartphone was among the very first to get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update back in mid-November. The new build was made available for US models, as well as international versions of it. However, there are still a few markets that are yet to get it.

Also note that the Android 5.0.2 update has started rolling out for owners of the second-gen Moto G in the United States.

Motorola Moto G (2013)

The first-gen Moto G is also receiving the Lollipop build, although only select owners have been getting it so far. Wider availability is yet to arrive.

Moto X (2014)

The handset received Lollipop treatment back in November with the Moto G. The Pure Edition and Verizon models were both updated a few days apart.

Other Motorola devices that are scheduled to receive Lollipop “really soon” (according to Motorola’s own Luciano Carvalho) are: Motorola Droid Turbo, Motorola Moto Maxx, Motorola Moto E, Moto X (2013), Motorola Droid Ultra, Motorola Droid Maxx and Motorola Droid Mini.

Sony

Sony Xperia Z3

Sony has already announced a slew of its devices are destined to get Lollipop in the upcoming months. And the flagship, Xperia Z3 could be among the first to do so. We’re probably going to see the software be made available in early February.

Sony Xperia Z2

The handset should be receiving Lollipop, immediately after the Xperia Z3. It could see it arrive in March, if the Xperia Z3 happens to get a little bit delayed.

Sony Xperia Z1

The older flagship will probably get Android 5.0 eventually, but if you’re the owner of such a model, you better brace yourself, because you still have quite a long wait ahead of you.

Sony has a slew of devices waiting to be updated including the Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact, and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

Sony has mentioned the new build is coming “at the beginning of the year,” but what that exactly implies, we are yet to find out.

HTC

HTC One (M8)

Initially, we were told that Lollipop would start hitting devices on January 3, but the date came and went and nothing of this sort happened.

Well, it appears HTC has been stumbling upon some bug crushing issues, so it was forced to delay the roll-out.

When it arrives, Lollipop will be plastered on top of Sense 7.0 UI and not a new version as it was whispered a while ago.

HTC One (M7)

HTC’s earlier flagship will also get the update. However, we don’t really know when that will happen, although it’s safe to assume that the new build will start spreading out after Lollipop launches for the HTC One (M8).

Other HTC phones that could receive the update are the HTC One (E8), One Mini 2, One Max and One Mini.
