The Android 5.0 Lollipop update has been out and about for a few months now, but the majority of handsets and tablets are still waiting to receive the new build.

The Motorola Moto G (2014) was actually one of the first non-Nexus devices to actually get updated to Lollipop back in mid-November.

The Moto G (2013) is also getting the update and some owners have apparently already been hit by the new build. But the majority is still waiting on that.

The Motorola Moto X was also updated in November, with the Pure Edition being served first, with the Verizon model following suit a few days later.

Well, Motorola also has a whole slew of smartphones from 2014 and 2013 it is planning to update to Google’s latest and greatest, and owners have been waiting for that to happen for a while now, with no exact date being shared with us.

Android 5.0 Lollipop coming to Motorola's handset family really soon

Anyway, Motorola’s own software engineer Luciano Carvalho has taken to Google Plus to reveal that Motorola’s smartphones from 2014 and 2013 will be updated “really soon.” We have no idea what that means exactly, but we’re trying to be positive here, so maybe we’ll see the update in the upcoming weeks?

Apparently, Motorola has been delaying the roll-out because it has been having trouble fixing the host of annoying Lollipop bugs. As Carvalho puts it, “Google doesn't not validate it (Lollipop) for all the possible combinations there are, and they won’t fix anything that’s no reproducible on a Nexus device, that’s our job.”

Anyway, here’s the complete list of the handsets that will be getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, eventually.

- Motorola Droid Turbo

- Motorola Moto Maxx

- Motorola Moto E

- Moto X (2013)

- Motorola Droid Ultra

- Motorola Droid Maxx

- Motorola Droid Mini.
