Finally, the other Nexus tablets are getting Android 5.0.2

.In late December, something quite unexpected happened. Google rolled out the Android 5.0.2 update, but most surprisingly the new build was made available exclusively for the Nexus 7 (2012).

The LRX22G firmware was made available for download from the Google Nexus factory images website plus new binaries.

The thing is that the Nexus 7 (2012) never got around to receiving the Android 5.0.1 update, so Google was probably making it up for the slip by bumping up the aging slate to 5.0.2 version.

Some time has passed since then and the remaining Nexus devices have not received the same treatment as the Nexus 7 (2012) did. Until now.

Android 5.0.2 is now available for the other Nexus tablets

Finally Google has made available the Android 5.0.2 factory images for the Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 10. According to the change log provided by the tech giant, the new build is here with some fixes that solve storage issues and alarm problems.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update was released in November and has since then made it to a few devices, including the Nexus bunch, the Google Play Edition models and a few other handsets.

The Android 5.0.1 version was released last month and added a few bug fixes. This build landed on fewer devices, although companies like Samsung have been said to be preparing the Android 5.0.1 update for devices such as the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge, thus jumping over Android 5.0.

Anyway going back to the factory images that are now available for the two tablets, you should take into consideration that installing them on your respective device will cause your data to be deleted.

So if you want to prevent something like that from happening, you might want to wait for Google to push for the OTA update, although we really have no clue when that will happen exactly.
