Android 5.0 Lollipop was released just a month ago, but it’s already yesterday’s news or so to speak. Android 5.0.1 Lollipop in factory image form has been rolled out under the LRX22C name and is currently available for the Nexus host of tablets, Wi-Fi versions obviously.

The factory images are currently up for grabs for the Nexus 7 2013 (razor), Nexus 9 (volantis) and Nexus 10 (mantaray).

You will be able to download the files by accessing the newly added LRX22C build number. Like expected, these images are to be sideloaded, and in order to do that, you’ll need to have an open bootloader, ABD installed on your desktop computer.

Android 5.0.1 is just a minor update over Android 5.0, so don’t expect anything too major. The exact improvements haven’t been listed yet, but it makes sense that Google will try and fix some of the major Lollipop problems users have been reporting as of late.

For example, Nexus 7 users who updated to Lollipop reported being plagued by lag, random crashes and reboots after getting the new build onboard. For some tableters, the update basically renders their slates useless, so a permanent fix to these seemingly widespread woes is certainly highly anticipated.
