South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is set to make the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system available for a host of devices in the not-too- distant future, and some more confirmation on the matter is said to have emerged.

The info comes from Phandroid, which reports that a source with knowledge of Samsung’s plans for the OS version has confirmed that handsets such as Galaxy S3, Galaxy S3 mini, and Galaxy Note 2 will receive the update in the not-too-distant future.

Moreover, said source also reiterated that Samsung would bring Android 4.4 KitKat to phones such as Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3, which have been already officially confirmed to receive it.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and Galaxy S4 Zoom are also included on the list, along with Galaxy Mega and some of the company’s tablets, said report unveils. However, no details on the roll-out timeframe have been provided.
