HTC has officially confirmed plans to make it available soon

Owners of the HTC One smartphone on the networks of AT&T and T-Mobile in the United States will receive the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system as soon as the next week, HTC has officially confirmed.

Responding to user questions on reddit, the company unveiled that the update is nearing its release date, while HTC President Jason Mackenzie confirmed on Twitter that users should expect it to arrive next week.

“Expect certification complete within next couple days. Will push it immediately after. Would say early next week latest,” he stated, referring to the T-Mobile HTC One.

Furthermore, he announced that the Android 4.4 KitKat for AT&T’s version of the handset is in testing that that the company will work to make it available “early next week.”

HTC also confirmed that its HTC One max and One mini smartphones are set to receive the update in the coming months.
