The new build will start being available as of today

Last week, Google announced that the Nexus 7 (2012/2013) and Nexus 10 slates would be getting the tasty Android 4.4 KitKat update.

Nevertheless, the OTA updates seemed to be lagging, leaving Australian users to tap nervously on the System Updates without receiving anything.

That frustrating wait is apparently soon to be over, according to information received by Ausdroid. It seems that Aussie Nexus tablet users should be expecting the new build to drop starting today. So far it is known that the Nexus 7 (2012/2013) Wi-Fi model and Nexus 10 will be included in the first KitKat wave.

There’s no information about the Nexus 7 (2012) 3G and Nexus 7 (2013) 4G might be allowed to join the “delicious” party.

Nevertheless, it’s important you know the update is being pushed out progressively so if you’re not amongst the first ones to receive it, don’t despair.
