No exact release date has been mentioned, but we should expect it very soon

There have been a few reports last month claiming Samsung won't be able to deliver the Android 4.4 KitKat update for Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 until February and it looks like these rumors have been pretty much correct.

Although Samsung is said to have been kicked off the rollout of Android 4.4 KitKat for Galaxy S4 in late January, there are only a handful of countries where owners of the smartphone can actually upgrade their devices.

The same goes for Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which has also started to receive the update in later January, but the rollout is going very slow so there's no telling how long it will take for KitKat to spread worldwide.

However, there are signs that KitKat for both Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4, Samsung's most treasured high-end smartphones, is about to be deployed in full force.

It appears that many carriers currently test some of the Android 4.4 KitKat builds sent by Samsung and if everything goes smoothly we should see it being rolled out within the next few weeks.

One of the carriers that probably already completed the testing process for this particular update is Canadian operator Rogers.

MobileSyrup has been recently tipped on Rogers' “OS Updates” scheduler, which was refreshed with new info on upcoming update for some of the smartphones sold by the carrier.

Among them, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 have been confirmed to receive the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade “soon.” Even though the tag “coming soon” could mean anything, it could also be an indication that Rogers has completed testing the update and is now preparing for the roll out.

As always, Rogers might change these estimates anytime, so finger crossed for a KitKat rollout in a not so distant future. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
