Owners of another Samsung smartphone out there can now enjoy the capabilities of the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, as the platform upgrade has started to arrive on Galaxy S4 Mini Duos devices out there.

The update is being delivered over-the-air to the owners of this handset in Russia at the moment, and brings along the Android 4.4.2 version of KitKat.

The OS refresh arrives on Galaxy S4 Mini Duos not long after it was released for the Galaxy S4 Mini Black Edition, yet it seems that the original Galaxy S4 Mini handsets are still being left out of it, as SamMobile notes. However, Samsung might bring the update to this phone model as well sooner rather than later.

The new update is currently available for download as build number I9192XXUCNG2, and users can already find it available online for manual downloads, it seems.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Galaxy S4 Mini Duos owners upgrading to Android 4.4.2 KitKat will enjoy a series of UI changes on their phones, along with various performance improvements.

Moreover, the update adds expanded emoji support, full-screen album art on the lock screen, wireless printing, a camera shortcut on the lock screen, and white status bar icons, among other enhancements.
