Today was a good day for Android fans, with the latest version of the operating system being rolled out to users. So the Nexus 5 has been released and it comes packing the long-awaited Android 4.4. KitKat version. But what about other devices?

Android Developers Blog expects Google Nexus and Play Edition devices to be among the first ones to receive the update in the coming weeks. The new build will be rolled out worldwide and will include Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets.

As expected, the new Android KitKat brings some improvements and updates compared with the previous version. Most importantly, it will provide improved memory management, better security standards and will help improve battery life.

The chocolaty build now bundles a unified SMS and IM system located in Google Hangouts and will allow users to use Full screen in immersive mode. NFC capabilities through “Host Card Emulation” have also been introduced, among other things.
