Android 4.4.4 KitKat, the latest stable flavor of Google’s mobile operating system, is now rolling out to the owners of more Google Play Edition devices out there, it seems.

The latest handsets to have received it are the HTC One (M7) and HTC One (M8) GPe, which are now able to take advantage of all of the enhancements included in it.

Only several days ago, a leaked roadmap for HTC’s update plans showed that the new OS upgrade was supposedly available for the company’s GPe devices, yet users are receiving it only now, a post on talkandroid reads.

As part of this firmware refresh, users will receive a series of performance and security improvements, as well as various bug fixes, it seems.

The aforementioned leaked roadmap also unveiled that HTC was working on delivering the update to the original HTC One (M7) and One (M8) devices, and that it would release it in July-August.

Most probably, the update will arrive sometime towards the end of this month, yet no official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now.

Until more on this is unveiled, owners of said Google Play Edition phones can head over to Settings > About phone > Software updates to check on the availability of Android 4.4.4 KitKat for them.
