Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is currently pushing the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system version to more of its handsets, as Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra are also receiving it, after the same has happened with the Xperia Z1 Compact earlier today.

The company has already updated the product pages for these two devices so as to reflect the change, while also providing some info on what users should expect from the update, gizmobolt has discovered.

Just as Google announced a few weeks ago, the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS version comes with enhancements and security updates from Google, while also being capable of delivering an updated and improved camera experience.

Moreover, the update will provide users with a series of improvements when using Google voice, Contacts, Music streaming and Google+, as well as with updated Sony applications, the release notes unveil.

On top of that, Sony claims that the new release arrives on smartphones with a series bug fixes, as well as with other optimizations and improvements.

The new platform upgrade is currently being deployed as firmware version 14.4.A.0.108, and users should receive a notification when it arrives on their phones. However, they can also manually check on its availability by going to Settings > About phone > Software update.
