The update is confirmed to bring security enhancements and bug fixes

Good news for Nexus 5 owners who purchased their high-end smartphone through T-Mobile’s official retail channels, as the Magenta carrier has just confirmed that a new update is available for download.

Why is it that good news? Well, that’s because T-Mobile claims that this is the long-awaited Android 4.4.3 KitKat update, which appeared on Sprint's support site several weeks ago.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen issues, the update was pulled without any explanations. It appears that it took Google quite a long time to make the update available once again and, as expected, Android 4.4.3 KitKat will be pushed to Nexus devices first.

T-Mobile has confirmed that software update KTU84M will roll out beginning today. It will be available for download OTA (over the air) and has around 54MB in size.

The Android 4.4.3 KitKat’s changelog is very short and doesn’t contain too many details. Google only says that the update brings security enhancements and various bug fixes, but no other information on any of these is provided.

Keep in mind that this is a staged rollout, so it may take up to several days until it reaches all Nexus 5 devices at T-Mobile.

On a side note, the same update has been confirmed for Nexus 7, which will be available beginning June 2 as well.

Update 1: T-Mobile says Android 4.4.3 KitKat is available for Nexus 4 as well.
