Sony Mobile is getting ready for the release of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system on more of its devices, and the company has just had the platform certified for the Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia T2 Ultra Dual devices out there.

The company promised a while ago the release of this platform iteration on said smartphones before the end of July, and it appears that it is nearing the availability of the update.

The new software iteration has been spotted at the PTCRB with build number 19.1.A.0.473 for the Xperia T2 Ultra (D5303), while expected to arrive on Xperia T2 Ultra Dual (D5322, XM50h) handsets as version 19.1.C.0.116.

Unfortunately, no specific info on what the update will include aside from the aforementioned Android 4.4.2 KitKat platform iteration has been provided as of now, but chances are that Sony will reveal such details sooner rather than later.

While we have no idea on when the update could start arriving on devices, it seems that users might not have long to wait for it.

Furthermore, as XperiaBlog notes, owners of Xperia E1 and Xperia M2 smartphones should also keep their eyes peeled for the arrival of this platform upgrade on their devices. Stay tuned for more on the matter.
