Soon, owners of Sony Xperia E1 smartphones out there will be able to enjoy the features and capabilities that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system has to offer, as the update has already received the necessary certification.

As XperiaBlog notes, the update has been spotted at the PTCRB with build number 20.1.A.0.45 attached to it, and is expected to arrive on all Sony Xperia E1 (D2004, D2005) smartphones out there.

The Android 4.4.2 operating system upgrade has received certification for the dual-SIM variant of Xperia E1 recently as well, which means that Sony will deliver it to this device variant as well sooner rather than later.

All of the features and capabilities that this OS iteration has brought to other Xperia devices recently should be included in the new software refresh as well, such as the option to move apps to the SD card, among others.

The one thing that hasn’t been revealed as of now is when exactly the update will start rolling out. A few weeks ago, Sony Mobile did confirm that the update should start arriving in the near future, but a specific availability date has yet to be provided.

Hopefully, Xperia E1 users will see Android 4.4.2 KitKat on their devices in a matter of weeks, so stay tuned to learn the news.
