HTC One max owners who have purchased their devices through Sprint official retail channels will be happy to know that the carrier has just started to seed the highly anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

Some Sprint customers who own the smartphone have already received software number 2.09.651.1, which is about 345MB in size. The update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, which is why not all HTC One max owners will receive it at the same time.

According to the official changelog, Android 4.4.2 KitKat update brings lots of enhancements, including strong security improvements and Cloud Print Service.

Keep in mind though that the update does not contain the latest HTC Sense 6.0 UI yet. However, HTC has confirmed that the One max will eventually receive the new user interface by the end of April, so stay tuned for more news on this one.

We recommend HTC One max users to download the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update over Wi-Fi for a quicker upgrade process.

Also, make sure that the phone’s battery is at least 50% charged, as it will take at least 30 minutes until the upgrade process is completed. You will be required to reboot the One max after the update is applied.
