The update has just started to roll out in Europe a few days ago

A few days ago I told you the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update started rolling out for the 2013 Lenovo S5000 tablet.

The new build had reportedly arrived for some users in Poland over-the-air (OTA) bringing with it all the KitKat-specific improvements, including new notification center, a refreshed graphical interface and new language options.

This was great news, since it was proof that Lenovo wasn't abandoning older tablet products and was struggling to keep them in league with the recent software updates.

But as we have seen many times, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update ends up doing a lot of good, but a lot of negative repercussions arise, as well.

One of our readers has confirmed the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update has landed in his home country, Czech Republic, but after installing it, he found user profiles were no longer functional.

For the time being, I don’t know if this bug has affected other users or not, but it might be a good reason to put off installing the new build for the time being, until we gather more information about the issue.

The Lenovo S5000 originally shipped out with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and also received the Android 4.3 update. We hope other bugs won’t arise with this latest update, but if they do, I’ll keep you informed.

Thanks to our reader Erik Webr for the tip!
