Owners of Xolo Q1010 handsets in India can now download and install the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system on their devices, only several days after the update has started to arrive on the vendor’s Q1010i model.

Back in May, the mobile phone maker has announced plans to upgrade several handsets in its lineup to the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, and it appears that the roll out is now in full swing.

Those of you who own a Q1010 handset and would like to download and install the new platform upgrade should head over to the company’s website for that.

The file weighs 316MB, and users will need to download it on their computers, then transfer it to the phone, and kick off the installation process through the Xolo care application. Specifics on the matter can be found on Xolo's online portal.

Apparently, the mobile phone maker hasn’t started deploying the update over-the-air as of now, though users can check the XOLO Care app on their mobile devices to see whether the software is available for wireless download as well.

As AndroidOS notes, no official changelog has been attached to the new release, but users should receive enhancements such as a refreshed UI, wireless printing, messaging app tweaks, and an immersive mode, along with improvements to performance and security.
