More mobile phone users out there are now able to take advantage of the features and enhancements included in the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, as LG has just started to push the platform release to its LG Optimus G Pro E988 handsets in India.

Apparently, the company is actually rolling the update out for users in other countries in Asia as well, such as Indonesia, though specific info on the deployment schedule is not available as of now.

The new platform iteration is being delivered to users over the air, and it should arrive to all of them in a matter of days or in a few weeks. The update weighs 684MB in size, a recent article on AndroidOS reads.

As usual, users will receive a notification on the availability of this update for their devices, but they will also be able to manually check on it by heading to Settings > About phone > Software update.

LG has not provided specific info on what the new update brings along, but users should expect the usual set of enhancements, such as a refreshed user interface, redesigned status and navigation bars, support for wireless printing, updates to the messaging app, and more.

Most probably, the South Korean vendor will publish some more details on the new software in the near future, so keep an eye on this space for updates.
