Back in June Toshiba launched some new tablet models pertaining to the Excite family, including the Excite Pro and Write. The slates originally shipped with Android 4.2 out of the box, but now Toshiba Germany has put out word that it will start rolling out the Android 4.3 update.

Apart from the standard enhancements and goodies one would expect to find in Android 4.3, users will discover new opportunities in the TruNote and TruCapture apps with the new update.

Users willing to jump in the Android 4.3 bandwagon will now have the opportunity to set up several accounts featuring different accessibility options, so more people can use the same tablet.

With the new TruNote, it is now possible to take notes and draw sketches that can be converted to Office-compatible formats, now in landscape mode too.

The TrueCapture app allows user to digitize their handwritten drawings and sketches, also in landscape mode, a feat users will particularly find useful when working on charts.

As a reminder, the Toshiba Exite Pro is a 10.1-inch tablet featuring a beautiful LED-backlit IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels.

The manufacturing company has added NVIDIA’s latest Tegra 4 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM to breathe life to the tablet. Users should be able to enjoy up to 11 hours of active use, thanks to the 33Wh battery.

On the other hand, the Toshiba Exite Write features pretty much the same specifications, expect it brings stylus support to the table.

The Android 4.3 update for Toshiba Excite Pro and Excite Write will arrive over-the-air, which means users will receive a message on the tablet alerting them when the download is available.

As Android 4.4 has been available for a while, most manufacturers (notably ASUS and HP) who have Android 4.2 installed on their tablet models have started pushing the Android 4.3 update.
