The update brings Galaxy Gear support and KNOX compatibility

AT&T has finally started the rollout of the long-awaited Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy Note II.

The information has been confirmed earlier today by the South Korean company, which published the official changelog of the update and the release date.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for Galaxy Note II would arrive at AT&T beginning December 17 and will bring lots of improvements and new features.

Aside from adding Samsung Galaxy Gear and KNOX compatibility, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean upgrade includes the following Premium Suite features:

- PEN.UP; - Group Play 2.5; - Multi-Window (Note 3 Version); - Camera – Shot & Sound; - Group Messaging; - Samsung Link (Preload); - New Easy Mode; - Samsung Apps.

Software version number I317UCUBMK6 is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so not all Samsung Galaxy Note II owners might receive it at the same time.

In order to manually check for the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, users should head over to Settings / About device / Software update / Check for updates.

Even though Samsung did not mention it in the official changelog, this major update is certainly available via Kies desktop software as well.

Samsung also recommends AT&T Galaxy Note II owners to back up their information stored on the phone is order to avoid data loss.

“Although there should be no impacts to settings or data, we recommend that you back up your media files prior to upgrading the software. For information on backing up and restoring your phone using Samsung Kies.”

T-Mobile Galaxy Note II owners were among the first to receive the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update on their devices, but AT&T customers did not have to wait too long for their own upgrade to become available.
