Owners of a Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone on the network of wireless carrier AT&T can once again download and install the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software update on their devices.

The operator has officially announced the availability of this OS upgrade starting with November 27, only weeks after it pulled the plug on the software due to various user-reported issues.

The update arrives on handsets as a 727MB download, and it should be grabbed over a Wi-Fi connection. Those who have already installed Android 4.3 on their devices will be provided with a smaller, 28MB update.

“Effective November 27, 2013, a software update for the Samsung Galaxy S 4 will be available to AT&T customers. This software package updates the Baseband version number to I337UCUEMK2, and includes multiple improvements,” the wireless carrier notes on its support website.

In addition to the Android 4.3 OS upgrade, the new software release arrives on smartphones with Samsung Galaxy Gear compatibility, a series of improvements to call reliability, and the option to drag and drop to uninstall or disable applications.

As Android Central notes, the new release is similar to the one that was available before, though users should expect to see fixes for the problems that were caused by it.

Before kicking off the update process, users should consider backing up all data on their devices, so as to ensure that no important files are lost.

“Although there should be no impacts to settings or data, we recommend that you back up your media files to an SD card, a PC, or using a favorite application (from the Play store), prior to upgrading the software,” AT&T also notes.

Following the installation of the new OS version, users should go to Settings, head to the More tab, and click on About device. There, they should see Baseband version I337UCUEMK2 and Build number JSS15J.I337UCUEMK2.
