Good news for Xperia Z, ZL and ZR owners who might have felt left out from the Android 4.3 update, as firmware build 10.4.B.0.56 has just been certified and will be coming their way in the following days.

For those unfamiliar with this build number, firmware version 10.4.B.0.569 is in fact the long-awaited Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. XperiaBlog reports that the new build has just popped up at PTCRB, which means that it will be rolled out very soon.

Although Sony announced last month that it would bring the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to Xperia Z, ZL and ZR beginning December, there was no word on the exact release date of the update.

The smartphones to receive the upgrade this month are Sony Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Ultra. Both devices started to get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update yesterday and the rollout will probably continue over the next few weeks.

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean build 10.4.B.0.569 that has just been certified by the PTCRB is fully compatible with the following devices: Xperia Z (C6602, C6603, C6606), Xperia ZL (C6502, C6503, C6506), Xperia ZR (C5502, C5503) and the Xperia Tablet Z (SGP321).

We suspect that all three smartphones will start getting the upgrade within the next couple of days. Obviously, availability may vary on country and carrier, which means that it will take a few weeks until it reaches all the devices from the moment the rollout kicks off.

In the same piece of news, Sony has confirmed that the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL and Xperia Tablet Z will be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat sometime next year.

The Xperia ZR doesn’t seem to be among the first smartphones to receive the update, but we expect Sony to offer the same update for this device later next year. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
