Last month, Sony promised that it would bring the long-awaited Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to some of its mid-range smartphones. According to the Japanese company, the rollout for some of these devices should start sometime in December.

Although a certain date has not been announced, there have been lots of teasers that point to an imminent release of the highly anticipated Android 4.3 upgrade.

After the said Jelly Bean update for Xperia Z1 Ultra leaked last week, ahead of the official launch, we now have good news for Xperia SP, Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V owners.

XperiaBlog reports that several Android 4.3 Jelly Bean builds for the respective smartphone have just been certified by DLNA and are likely to be pushed live within the next several days.

According to the leaked documents, via Blog of Mobile, the following Sony Xperia models passed DLNA certification on December 10: Xperia SP (C5302, C5303, C5306, M35h), Xperia T (LT30p, LT30a), Xperia TX (LT29i) and Xperia V (LT25i).

Unfortunately, no hints on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for Xperia ZL and Xperia ZR surfaced online yet, though both smartphones have been confirmed to receive the update this month as well.

Other Sony smartphones that should get the Android 4.3 upgrade in December include the Xperia Z, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Ultra, as well as the Xperia Z Tablet.

Some of the most powerful Sony Xperia smartphones will also receive the latest Android 4.4 KitKat update early next year, such as: Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1.

These are part of the first wave of Sony smartphones that will get the KitKat upgrade, but other mid-range devices are expected to receive the update next year as well, including the Xperia SP. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
