A new firmware version for Xperia M dual has been certified as well

We reported over the weekend that Sony Xperia M might soon receive the long-awaited Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update and now it looks like a new firmware version for the smartphone has been released by the Japanese company.

Although French carrier SFR has announced that it has approved the Jelly Bean update for the Xperia M and Australian operator Vodafone has confirmed that it has started to test the latest build, it looks like Android 4.3 is not so close as we initially thought.

Given the fact that Sony felt the need to release a new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware version for Xperia M, there’s likely to be some issues with the current versions of the update.

According to XperiaBlog, the Android 4.3 firmware version 15.4.A.0.23 for Xperia M has recently been certified at PTCRB.

In the same piece of news, the dual-SIM version of Xperia M has received a firmware version update from 15.5.A.0.16 to 15.5.A.0.18. The latter has been spotted at PTCRB as well, but we’re not sure when exactly it will go live.

We expect Sony Xperia M to start receiving the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean upgrade in the coming weeks or perhaps slightly earlier, but stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
