The update brings along lock screen widget, Daydream and more

Japanese wireless carrier NTT DoCoMo has officially confirmed plans to start delivering the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system update to the owners of a Galaxy Nexus SC-04D smartphone on its network, announcing that the software will be available from May 9.

The update will bring along a series of appealing enhancements to Galaxy Nexus users, including a lock screen widget and the Daydream function.

Furthermore, the new platform release will bring along Photo Sphere, enabling users to create 360 degrees photos.

Fast access to quick settings from the notification bar will also be available following the update, a recent post on rbmen notes.

The update will arrive on devices as build number JDQ39.SC04DOMMD4. Users will be notified of the availability of the new software for their devices, and the rollout is expected to be completed by May 31, the wireless carrier announced on its support website.
