Google has been recently reported to be planning the launch of a new flavor of its mobile operating system in the coming weeks, and proof of that is now available.

Supposedly set to land on devices as Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the new platform release has already been spotted on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, as can be seen in the photo above.

According to a recent article on ibtimes.com, Google might be set to make the new platform version available by mid-February, after concluding internal testing for it.

The platform was spotted on Nexus 4 handsets in various markets last month, yet the OS is still nowhere to be seen officially as of now.

Specific info on what the update will pack inside hasn’t been provided yet, but it might not be too long before Google makes it official, provided that the above rumors pan out.
