Samsung has already confirmed that it will bring its flagship smartphone’s software on the Galaxy S III, though details on the exact release date of the update are scarce.

According to the latest hearsay, the South Korean company is actively working on delivering the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean upgrade to Galaxy S III devices.

Today, the folks over at SamMobile leaked the first Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean ROM for Samsung Galaxy S III.

Even though this is not an official ROM, the person responsible for this leak claims that Samsung continues to work on this pre-release build so there might be some things not working as intended.

Given the fact that the development on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for Samsung Galaxy S III isn’t completely done, those who are willing to flash this ROM should expect some missing features that are present in the Galaxy S 4.

The leaked ROM has been tagged as build JDQ39 and brings lots of new features and improvements, including the ones detailed below:

- New Galaxy S 4 lockscreen: Multiple Widgets, two Unlock effects (Ripple and Light), improved ripple effect than Android 4.1.2, ability to change clock size and set a personal message; - New Galaxy S 4 screen modes: Adapt Display and Professional Photo; - Daydream; - Driving mode; - Actionable notifications; - New additions in Notification Center; - Completely revamped Settings UI ported from Galaxy S 4; - Voice controls; - Gallery modes have white background; - Full screen Samsung apps; - New S-Voice ported from Galaxy S 4; - New Smart Switch widget.

SamMobile claims that “this firmware will increase your binary counter but the current binary and system status will remain official.” For more details on how to download and install this pre-release version of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for Samsung Galaxy S III, head over to the original thread.
