14 DAY TRIAL // Owners of a Galaxy Nexus device on Sprint’s network should soon be able to install a new Android platform release on their smartphones, namely 4.2.1 Jelly Bean, which has already been spotted online.
The update has already been spotted on Google’s servers as GA02 (from FH05), the guys over at XDA-Developers note in a forum post.
In order to install the new software on their handsets, users will have to either have an unlocked bootloader or to have a custom recovery installed. Rooted devices can also be updated, it seems.
The official update should be close, but those who would like to install Android 4.2.1 on their Sprint Galaxy Nexus before that should read the instructions offered through said forum thread.
Furthermore, the full ROM was spotted online as well, over at sxtpdevelopers, and can be flashed on devices using Odin (all the necessary instructions are available on their forum).
