Starting today, owners of a Galaxy S III smartphone on the networks of Videotron, WIND and Mobilicity in Canada should get a taste of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system update.

Samsung themselves have already confirmed this on Twitter, adding that the deployment would continue in stages throughout the next week.

What’s even better is that Videotron users are reporting that the update is already live for their devices, and that it arrives as Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, a recent article on MobileSyrup notes.

Users can check to see if it arrived on their handsets as well through going to Menu > Settings > About phone > System software updates > Check now.

The new operating system flavor should start arriving on other devices as well in the next hours, so stay tuned to learn more on the matter.
