Motorola DROID RAZR M, one of the latest Android-based smartphones that Verizon has made available for purchase on its network, can now be upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The handset was released several weeks back with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board, but users can now download and install on it an unofficial Jelly Bean ROM.

Available online as firmware Blur Version.77.111.10.XT907.Verizon.en.US, the new ROM weighs 255MB and can be flashed in stock recovery, Android Central notes.

Those who are interested in giving the ROM a try should know that they will be doing that at their own risk and that they will be the only ones responsible should anything happen with the device.

Being an unofficial release means that the ROM could still pack a series of issues that might affect users’ experience with the Motorola DROID RAZR M, something that applies to other leaked software as well.
