Although yet unreleased, the Galaxy Nexus for Verizon is receiving software updates meant to resolve various issues that it had, and one of these updates reportedly arrives on devices as Android 4.1.

Nothing was officially confirmed on this, but some of those who have units for testing report on the new OS flavor being pushed to their phones with no changelog attached.

It arrives after the release of Android 4.0.2 for the device, and might signal completion of carrier testing and the near availability of the phone on shelves.

Verizon hasn’t unveiled a specific release date for the smartphone until now, but various rumors suggest that it could land in about a week or so.

Following rumors on a December 8th release date for Verizon's Galaxy Nexus, new leaks point at December 11th availability at Best Buy. Previously, one retailer confirmed availability on the 9th, so things are lining up about right.

Been not so patiently waiting .I hope that all the bug fixes are complete and the American consumers can enjoy this beautiful device..I have no problem with the delay to insure the phone is near bug free but i am a little upset with verizon as to not putting out anyword on availabilty this from a 6 year verizon customer..

I think various rumors have had this phone arriving just about every other day, people just need to get their panties outta the knot there in, and wait til verizon actually announces a sale date.
