Android 4.1.2 for Galaxy S II Only in January

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has reportedly decided to push back the release of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for its Galaxy S II smartphone.

The update was initially expected to arrive on devices in November, yet the release date was moved to December, and is now said to have been pushed back to the next month.

The new delay was caused by a recently discovered security flaw that reportedly affects some of Samsung’s Exynos-based smartphones.

According to SamMobile, Samsung is set to resolve the issue first, and will push the update to users only after that. Moreover, the news site claims that the handset vendor is also looking to update devices in a wider range of markets from the beginning (not just Poland and Germany as before).

Unfortunately, Galaxy Note users won’t be luckier either, as the update has been pushed back to January 2013 for them as well.
