Owners of a Galaxy S III smartphone on the network of wireless carrier C Spire are in for a treat today, as their operator has started to deliver the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean upgrade to them.

Furthermore, the software arrives on devices bundled with the Premium Suite update that has already landed on Galaxy S III units elsewhere.

In addition to the various performance improvements that the Jelly Bean operating system will provide to users, the update will also bring along a Multi Window feature, thus enabling improved multitasking capabilities on the handset.

Courtesy of this functionality, owners of Samsung's smartphone will be able to open two different apps at the same time, into two different windows on the screen of their phones.

Also, the new firmware offers new functionality such as Page Buddy, Contextual Menu and Contextual Tag, as well as a series of other enhancements, including Auto Share Shot Pairing using NFC, Reader Mode, and Facebook Lock Ticker.

The release notes for the new OS upgrade show the following:

- Page Buddy: Your phone will smartly predict what you intend to do according to your actions. For example, when you plug in your earphones, the device automatically opens up a page with the music player.

- Contextual Menu: When you list up apps, you can now choose to see the most frequently used ones first. Especially convenient when you’re looking through apps to find files to attach.

- Contextual Tag: When you take a picture on the phone, you can tag the weather, date, and place immediately.

- Auto Share Shot Pairing using NFC: By setting the camera to ‘Auto Share Shot’ mode, you can quickly share your photos and videos by simply tapping their GALAXY S III with other NFC and S-Beam enabled devices

- Reader Mode: You can easily control the size of the text on your browser! Also, you can just click the webpage to share it!

- Facebook Lock Ticker: The easiest way to see your Facebook News Feeds – set your phone to show it on your lock screen.

Not to mention that users will be able to take advantage of a Panorama Mode in the camera application on their devices, which will enable them to shoot 360 degrees photos and to capture more of what’s around them.

Those who would like to learn more on what the new OS upgrade will bring along, or on how they can download and install it, should head over to this page on the wireless carrier’s website.
