LG recently reiterated plans to offer an upgrade to Android 4.0 to its Optimus 2X and Optimus 3D, though the South Korean company announced several weeks ago that none of these smartphones would receive an official Ice Cream Sandwich update.

Last week, we reported that LG officials confirmed via Twitter that Optimus 2X and Optimus 3D are expected to receive the long-awaited Android 4.0 ICS within the next few weeks.

However, there was no mention of the LG Optimus Black, which was also slated for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade earlier this year.

Today, the folks over at TechCovet have just been confirmed that LG Optimus Black would indeed receive an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update soon. The information comes via a retail box stamp, which mentions the smartphone being upgradable to Android 4.0.
