As soon as it arrived on shelves at Verizon Wireless, Galaxy Nexus got a taste of a new OS flavor, namely Android 4.0.2, and it seems that the same platform release is now available for the GSM flavor of the device too.

The new platform update is being delivered over the air, and weighs in at 8.7MB update, reports suggest.

While no official release notes for the new update have been made available, chances are that it includes about the same features and enhancements that Verizon and Google pushed to the LTE-capable Galaxy Nexus on Big Red’s network.

UK users have been already reporting the availability of this update on their devices, and T-Mobile USA users are also seeing it available on their devices. Soon, it should reach all users, just as the Android 4.0 update for the Nexus S will.
