We all remember the sad day when kernel.org got hacked and everything went berserk. Among the affected projects was also Android, but now the sources are online.

Google's Android Compatibility Chief, Dan Morrill, announced on Android Building mailing list that everything should get back to normal .

“We’re pleased to let you know that the Gingerbread source code is now available again, and AOSP git servers are back online” said Dan Morill.

He also said that the Gingerbread sources are now available on Google’s servers, mainly because when they released the previous version, kernel.org experienced serious downtime due to the incoming traffic. Google was apparently already preparing to move the git hosting of their servers.

Download Google Android 2.3 right now from Softpedia. Be warned though, gitweb source browsing and Gerrit Code Review are still unavailable.
